Regardless of your opinion on the (in)effectiveness of the United Nations, it may be a good idea to take a virtual tour of the UN (www.un.org) to keep up-to-date with the latest information on international relations.

And it is not just the dry stuff that I’m talking about here, although there are plenty that will bore you to death. At this Web site, you can dig out information on current and completed peacekeeping missions, disaster relief efforts, as well as international law (not dumb ones, of course).

One of the more interesting segments is the CyberSchoolBus, which hosts a wealth of resources such as statistics of UN Member States. You can also play quizzes and games (like Flag Tag, which tests your knowledge of… what else, flags), or check out the ongoing exhibitions of artworks and photographs by students from all over the world.

In line with technological advancements, there is even a multimedia section where you can watch video documentary of special events.
