Where is your conscience, my friend?
Killing millions, occupying their land
Gathering other people’s property in your hands
How can you sleep, or rest, in peace
When others have really nothing to eat
Where is your conscience, my friend?
Suppressing opinions, brainwashing young men
Purging oppositions to further your own ends
How can you eat and not feel sick
By the thought that others have to feed on leaves
Maybe you’ve never felt any remorse
For anything you had done
But, at the moment of your death
Ask yourself, “Where is my conscience?”
A piece written by me back in 26 June 1988. Shows how much things haven’t changed since.
