Taking ergonomics too far

Taking ergonomics too far 1I have never been a fan of ergonomically designed keyboards, although I have one (courtesy of Microsoft for attending a press event) tucked away at home. The IBM laptop (not Lenovo) that I’m using has a rather cramped keyboard, but the tactile feedback it offers is better than desktop versions. Moreover, I can’t imagine anyone enjoying typing on the warped keyboard pictured on the right.

Perhaps when they say the keyboard is “ergonomically designed”, they meant that the product designer was sitting comfortably while conceiving the design.
