Adrian and Melvin on mid-shift. Joey and me took over for closing. Quite a long time since last co-operation and first time together for bar-closing on a Saturday. Wore tight surgical gloves while working due to serious corrosion of the fingers by harsh detergents. Able to manage with it initially but later discarded the gloves when the rush hour arrived. Inconvenient to work with another layer of “artificial skin” – slowed down speed significantly.
Busy like hell during peak period. Orders came in non-stop. Bar jammed up despite strong partnership. Esther came in to help out. Funny – both Joey and me seemed to be quite slow even though we were considered the strongest combination in bar. Too many closing shifts for us perhaps? Closed bar late anyway.
