Shaping up more and more like a bread toaster, the new Canon xnu i255 can easily take its place on a kitchen table without looking out of place.
But do not underestimate this bubble jet printer from Canon.
With its non-optimised 4,800-dpi resolution, fast printing speed (12ppm monochrome/9ppm colour), and space-saving design, the xnu i255 is in good shape to toast the competition. At S$129, it is also one of the most affordable colour inkjet printers in the market.
Price and features aside, Canon is renewing its emphasis on the total cost of ownership for this printer (as well as other printers down the line).
Since the true cost of a printer lies in the running costs (i.e. ink cartridges) and not on the initial cost of purchase, Canon argues that the xnu i255 is more economical than similar offerings from other printer makers in the long run.
An in-house laboratory test conducted by Canon suggests that an A4 full colour document printed by the xnu i255 is 40% cheaper than its closest competitor.
